Sclerocephalus is an extinct genus of temnospondyl amphibian from the lowermost Permian of Germany.  Paleontol0gists disagree over whether temnospondyls were ancestral to modern amphibians because they possessed characteristics of modern reptiles. Sclerocephalus were capable of leaving the water and walking around on land,‭ ‬but they were still well adapted to life in the water.‭
