Located on the top 2 floors of the Dinosaur Store, the 20,000 sq ft Museum of Dinosaurs and Ancient Cultures showcases hundreds of authentic artifacts and fossils from around the world!
Take a quick walkthrough before your visit. The video highlights the layout of the museum, from the Hall of Dinosaurs to the galleries of Ancient Cultures, giving you a preview of the sights waiting upstairs.
The second floor is dedicated to the prehistoric world, with exhibits spanning the Devonian, Triassic, Jurassic, and Cretaceous periods. Here you’ll find authentic fossils, life-size cast skeletons, and reconstructed habitat scenes that bring the age of dinosaurs to life.
Popular features include the Mineral Cave, filled with glowing crystals and UV-reactive minerals, and Dawn of Man, which explores early human history with paleolithic tools, hominid skull casts, and signed field notes from renowned archaeologist Mary Leakey. A recent addition, the Phorusrhacos or “Terror Bird,” can be found in the Birds of Prey exhibit.
The third floor transitions from prehistory to human history with galleries devoted to Egypt, China, Mesoamerica, and Tribal Africa. The museum houses hundreds of authentic artifacts, alongside immersive reconstructions such as King Tutankhamen’s tomb and a dramatic installation of China’s Terracotta Soldiers.
New collections and displays are added frequently. One of the latest additions is the Cronin Collection, featuring pre-Columbian works from Costa Rica dating from around 1000 BC to 1450 AD.
Tickets are sold in-store only and must be purchased one hour before closing. Combo tickets with the downstairs Adventure Zone are available, along with add-ons such as the Family Pack Ride and Gem Panning.
